In the recently released Ethics and Integrity Ranking by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, (ICPC), the agency ranked the Federal University Dustinma, FUDMA, as fifth among all federal universities in the country which is very commendable considering the strict set of requirements that institutions and organisations must meet in order to feature in the integrity compliance ranking.

The agency embarked on the annual ethics and integrity compliance evaluation for organisations and institutions of government to ensure that these MDAs work in line with ethical provisions, which will go a long way in minimiing corrupt practices and financial malpractice in the public sector.

The system measures three key performance indicators, namely management culture and structure, financial management system, and administrative system.

Therefore it is no surprise that the Federal University Dutsinma, under the leadership of Professor Armya'u Hamisu Bichi met the ethics and integrity compliance requirements of ICPC to emerge in such an envious place among its peers.

Aside the prudent management of the university's finances, Federal University Dutsinma has witnessed good governance in all other aspects of administration, academics, infrastructure and even security.

The University is located in one of the security flashpoints in the States, Dustinma, but the institution's leadership is trying its best within the available resources to provide adequate security for staff and students to go about their activities within and in the vicinity of the institution's campus.

FUDMA has also enjoyed endorsements by the regulatory bodies particularly the National Universities Commission and a Presidential Visitation Panel that concluded its work in 2021.

Recently, the NUC, having acknowledged the capabilities of the young university, granted approval for commencement of courses in the fields of Health Sciences and Engineering. The approved programmes include courses in Chemical Engineering, Human Anatomy, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Geology, Radiography, Nursing, Medical Science Laboratory, Human Physiology, Civil Engineering and Electrical Electronics.

Interestingly the university has progressed from three faculties and 23 programmes in 2012 to 13 faculties and over 68 academic programmes as at 2022 while more expansions are being recorded in the areas of academics and infrastructure.

ICPC says the goal of its ethics and integrity compliance scorecard in MDAs is to diminish corrupt tendencies and system abuse and to revive ethics and integrity as benchmark to ensure good service delivery in the public sector.
